Law of the Sea Treaty (I can see this letter)

by LostinLiberalLand

Dear Mr. President and members of The U.S. Senate,

Are you serious? What in the name of God are you thinking? Do you really want to subject America to the rules contained in The Law of the Sea Treaty. You are seriously considering signing away U.S. sovereignty to a panel of the United Nations? You are willing to let the United Nations levy taxes on the citizens and corporations of the United States. You are going to let the United Nations determine when and where U.S. Navy ships can go? You want the Officers of the U.S. Navy to wait for a permission slip to set up a Naval blockade or intercept a Ship from a hostile country that is suspected of transporting illegal weapons on their way to a hostile recipient?

Out of fairness let us suggest you ask yourself these questions prior to making your decision. When was the last time, if ever, the U.N. acted expediently in any situation. When was the last time, if ever, that the U.N. acted in the best interests of the U.S.? Does the U.N. have a history of administrating programs without question of ethics, or bribery? (Think Oil for Food) Has the U.N. as an institution always acted in the interests of democracy or has it been subject to the control of communists, dictators, mass murderers, anti-Semites, Mullahs and thugs.

We, collectively, are spinning in our graves. We fought, suffered, died, and struggled to free this land from taxation without representation and the ability to act in our own best interests as a sovereign, free and independent nation. How dare you dishonor us and our struggle by giving away that sovereignty with the stroke of a pen. Ladies and Gentlemen we respectfully submit that you are violating your oath of office to uphold The Constitution. You are a disgrace to the offices you hold.

With due respect and reverence for the offices you hold ,
